Description : Airport Authority (the “Authority”) is taking forward the Airportcity Link (ACL) project, which consists in a purpose-built bridge on which a vehicular road and a pedestrian walkway will be provided to connect the Hong Kong Port (HKP) (formerly known as Hong Kong Boundary Crossing Facilities) Island and SKYCITY on the Airport Island. In line with the Authority-s Corporate Environmental Policy, ACL will be served exclusively by AAHK-s electric vehicles, such as to minimize the carbon footprint associated with its operation. This ACL project forms part of the Authority-s wider vision to develop an Airport Autonomous Transportation System (AATS) that would serve the ACL as well as an extension of the ACL-s autonomous transportation system to Tung Chung, currently being planned.The Authority plans to introduce an autonomous transportation system to the ACL by 2024, and is planning to extend that system to Tung Chung town center by 2027-28.
