  • Tenders are invited for Supply and Installation of Analyzers, Laboratory, Hematology, Cell Counting, Automated for Pathology Department for Expansion of United Christian Hospital, Kowloon East Cluster, Hospital Authority 1.1 This tender calls for the supply, delivery, installation and at least 12-month warranty of one set of Haematology Laboratory Cell Counting Automation System at the Haematology Laboratory at United Christian Hospital (UCH). (M) 1.2 Tenderer shall guarantee that all analytical components, consumables, and reagents are manufactured in accordance with approved international standards, and those materials supplied shall be United States- Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved and CE marked. Only CE mark is not acceptable. (M) 1.3 The Haematology Laboratory Cell Counting Automation System for UCH shall have: 1.3.1 The system shall have pre- and post- analytic tube management functions. (M) 1.3.2 No more than six units of identical haematology blood cell analyzers with total throughput of not less than 600 samples per hour for Complete Blood Count (CBC) with White Blood Cell (WBC) Differential. (M) 1.3.3 Not more than 3 units of automatic slide maker/stainers shall have a total throughput of not less than 150 slides per hour. (M) 1.3.4 One digital cell morphology analyzer with total throughput of not less than 30 samples per hour to locate and to display images of blood cells on peripheral blood smears. (M) 1.3.5 A diluent preparation unit that can prepare diluent from concentrated diluent with laboratory grade water for performing CBC shall be provided if required. It shall include storage of the prepared diluent and shall have an alert system to monitor the quality of prepared diluent. (M) 1.3.6 Blood cell analyzers, slide maker/stainers ; and reagent reconstitution systems if applicable, connected in one complete sample transportation system functionable at the time of delivery and installation. (M) 1.3.7 Tube sorter, blood cell analyzers, slide maker/stainers, digital cell morphology analyzer, and reagent reconstitution systems connected in one complete sample transportation system functionable at the time of delivery and installation. (D) 1.3.8 One data management middleware, which shall consolidate and manage the results from different blood cell analyzers, slide maker/stainers, and digital cell morphology analyzer. (M) 1.3.9 The system shall be of floor stand type. Tenderer shall also provide sufficient number of working benches or desks to accommodate the controllers and their associated workstations and printers. The benches or desks shall be aesthetically and ergonomically designed. (M) 1.3.10 Dimension of the whole configuration shall fit with the composite drawing as Appendix A: (M) 1.3.11 Dimension of the whole configuration, which shall fulfill clause A1.3.9, and shall confine to the space available with dimension of 8,000mm (W) x 2,000mm (D) x 1,500mm (H). (M) B Sample Transportation System 1 The configuration of the sample transportation system shall be flexible, linear design, to fit the floor plan at UCH. (M) 1.1 Tenderer shall quote for an optional item which enable the configuration of the sample transportation system to turn at 90° if available. Details shall be provided in the Tender return for consideration. Tenderer shall quote the unit price in Schedule A (Price) - Section E. (O) 2 The track shall be expandable and can be connected to not less than 9 analyzers, for future upgrade or to serve for workload increase purpose. The track shall have the capability to connect to Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) and Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate (ESR) system if necessary. (M) 3.1 The reflex function for platelet should be able to trigger the analyzer to switch to a more advanced methodology automatically; when impedance method is affected by interference, fluorescent measurement of Platelet Count (PLT) could be employed. (D) 4 It shall comprise of additional lane that allows the sample rack to route onto the by-pass lane while other lanes are occupied. (M) 5 The sample loading and collecting yards shall be placed together on the same side. (M) 6 The sample loading and collecting yards can be placed separately on the opposite side of the track to allow a flexible workflow design. (M) 7 The capacity of the sample loading yard and collecting yard shall each accommodate not less than 250 samples to allow sample continuous loading. (M) 8 The cell counting automation system shall be able to connect with existing cell counting system (Brand & Model: Sysmex XN9100) in one integrated system. (D) 9 The track system shall have the following functions: 9.1 The pre-analytic system shall be capable of: (i) Continuous loading of sample tube (ii) Identifying sample tubes by barcode labels (M) 9.2 The pre-analytic system is desirable to be capable of: (i) Sorting sample tube out for offline analysis (ii) Sorting error sample (e.g. unidentified barcode label, invalid test order) tube out at a designated area (iii) Prioritizing urgent sample by rack type It is desirable to be able to sort post-analytical tubes for sample management base on user-s preference, and store or archive no less than 1000 tubes. (D) 9.3 It can be placed at the sample entry point, between the haematology analyzers and the slide-maker stainers, or at the end of the track system to tailor-fit the lab order profiles and sample workflow. (M) 10 The system shall use the waste drainage point indicated in Appendix A. The rear panel shall face the drainage system to ensure heat dissipation does not affect the work benches. The successful tenderer shall provide the drain pipe for the waste water and discharge to the waste drainage point. The successful tenderer shall provide an exhaust air system to cater the heat dissipation, if necessary. (M) 11 The successful tenderer shall notify the Main Contractor for the required size of the waste drainage point for the equipment. (M) 12 The successful tenderer shall notify the Main Contractor for the location and size of the external wall/ slab openings and the weatherproof louvre size for the exhaust air outlet if the exhaust air system to be provided by themselves. (M) 13 The sample entry point of the system shall be placed closest to the laboratory entrance in Appendix A to reduce samples transportation time. The sample collection point shall be placed on the opposite side. (M) 14 Sufficient storage racks for pre- and post-analytical unit shall be available to accommodate no less than 10,000 CBC samples. (D) 1.4 Cyanide-free colorimetric method for hemoglobin measurement (M) 2 The analyzers shall employ the following analysis mode for different samples analysis: 2.1 Whole blood mode (M) 2.2 Pre-Dilution mode (M) 2.3 Low WBC mode (M) 2.4 Body fluid mode (M) 3 The analyzers shall employ the following discrete mode for measurement: 3.1 CBC only (M) 3.2 CBC/ DIFF (M) 3.3 CBC / DIFF / RET (M) 4 The analyzers shall be able to provide CBC, 5-part WBC Differential, Reticulocyte and nucleated red blood cell count on whole blood sample.
